Understanding App Store Screenshot Requirements
App Store Connect groups iPhone screenshots by hardware class (Dynamic Island, Face ID, Home Button) and display size (large, medium), not by a phone's marketing screen size. For example, 1179 × 2556 is accepted for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display); it is not accepted for iPhone with Face ID (medium display). ASOShot therefore keeps mockup device geometry separate from the selected export canvas.
The required iPhone bucket is iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), and iPad apps also need the 13-inch set. Apple scales a supplied larger set down to smaller buckets, so designing once at the largest Dynamic Island size covers every iPhone bucket. iPhone Duo has its own outer and inner display sizes with a much wider aspect ratio, so it needs its own composition; Apple requires them from April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
Every successful export must use an accepted pixel size, PNG or JPEG format, RGB color, and no alpha channel or transparency. Portrait and landscape are both accepted when their dimensions are transposed.
