Why We Built ASOShot
Store screenshot work is not one image. It is a connected set of screens, sizes, locales, shared visual rules, and intentional exceptions.
The Repetitive Part of Screenshot Production
General design tools can create the artwork, but a release still has to maintain shared styles, per-screen exceptions, accepted export dimensions, localized copy, and an editable project source. ASOShot was built around that matrix instead of treating every output as an unrelated canvas.
Current Product Principles
The current version is free to use, requires no ASOShot account, and does not add a watermark to exports. Imported screenshots and canvas rendering stay in the browser. When automatic translation is used, only caption text and selected language information are sent to the configured translation service; images are not sent for translation.
ASOShot is proprietary software. Free access does not mean that the application source is open.
How the Workflow Is Structured
The editor currently includes 15 templates, realistic phone and tablet frames, flat and 3D rendering, rich caption controls, 22 locale presets, project-wide styles, per-screen overrides, JSON project backup, and individual or ZIP export. The canvas renderer draws each screenshot at the selected target dimensions rather than exporting a scaled preview.
What We Will Keep Documenting
Product capabilities, store targets, and availability can change. Public product facts and guides should describe the released editor rather than speculative roadmap items. When a capability is not available, the documentation should say so directly.
